It's Been a While

I haven't blogged in a few weeks, but it has been crazy around here. The first week of March I went to Oklahoma City for some training for work. That had to be the longest week of my life!! I have never been away from Anna Claire longer than over night and she was just across the yard, so being away from her 4 nights was very hard on all of us. Kerry took me to the airport on that Monday bc I couldn't bare walking away from AC. Anna Claire and her MeMe picked me that Friday afternoon bc Kerry had to be at work. I teared up to cry when we were landing bc I was so excited to finally be home. I know the little lady beside me thought I was crazy. The waiting area at the airport has glass windows surrounding it, so you can see people coming up the little ramp when they are heading to baggage claim. As I was coming up the ramp Momma and AC had front row seats and we immediately spotted each other. Anna Claire took off running along the edge of the windows hollering, "Mommy Mommy Mommy." As she rounded the side of the glass she thought there was an opening and she smashed face first in to the window {kinda like you see birds do on TV}. It was so pitiful. Everyone stopped and "awed" at her. She slept in the bed with me for 2 nights straight and would not let me out of her sight, but I was 100% OK with it. Needless to say we really missed each other. I missed Kerry too, but we've traveled with out each before. Kerry did say that he would rather be gone, than for me to be gone. While I was in Oklahoma City we visited the site where the Oklahoma City bombing was and the museum. I wasn't allowed to take pictures in the museum, but you can go HERE to see what it entailed. I do have pictures from the outdoor memorial from day and night that I will try to post sometime this week. It is hard to explain how I felt visiting the site.

This past weekend Kerry and I went Easter Bunny shopping. I noticed when Kerry was backing out of a parking space that I had/have a break light out. {Not to worry, the other 2 are working - LOL} I told him about it and he said he would fix it for me. Of course, it rained all day Saturday, Sunday he was throwing up all day {TMI - I know}, and yesterday I had an appointment, so the break light hasn't been fixed yet. No big deal, right?

Well at 7:54 this morning, I got this, which made me late for work.

Yes, out of all the people in town with a break light out or NO BREAK LIGHTS AT ALL, I got pulled over. I knew when the Officer got behind me at the red light that he would pull me over and sure enough as soon as the light turned green and we passed Ascend on came the blues. {How embarrassing} The Officer came to my window and told me what I already knew, "Ma'am I pulled you over bc you have a break light out." As all these sarcastic comments ran through my head, I responded with "yes I know, I noticed it Saturday but it's been raining." He asked for my license, registration, and proof of insurance. I handed him my license and registration and began to dig in the glove box for my proof of insurance. He told me that he would go check what I had given him and would look at the proof of insurance when he came back. I'm sure he was thinking, "good grief woman how many pieces of paper do you have in your glove box." As I begin to panic and wonder if Marty with Farm Bureau would bring me proof of insurance, like they do on TV commercials at some places {can't remember what company commercial I saw that did that} I found my proof of insurance. A new sense of calm came over me and I got excited!! No tickets for me this morning, thank goodness!! Then here he comes back to my car and I happily show him my proof of insurance, which he glances at and then hands me my warning ticket. {Just to remind me about my non functioning break light, like him pulling me over wasn't reminder enough} I thanked him, even though I didn't want to, and assured him it would be fixed today. {bc I had already planned to make sure Kerry fixed it today anyway - no seriously I really had, I'm not one to purposely break the law now that I'm grown} He of course, looked at me like "yeah right." Thankfully it was just a warning ticket, but never the less it was quiet embarrassing to be siting there with traffic going by while the blues are on you. Thank goodness I had already passed Misty, so I knew she missed it!! LOL!!

Here is Miss Anna Claire this morning in her St. Patrick's Day shirt. She wakes up like her Daddy, which is why she looks so unhappy. It's amazing that Big Daddy (Cliff) and I have the exact same phone and he took the first picture of AC above with his phone and I took this picture with my phone. His looks way better than mine does!! Go figure!!

Glad it was just a WARNING!
